Thanks Reza, nice to get an upgrade on this one - I got it somewhere else a long time ago at a lower bitrate. Now I see the names and realize I've got to know who many of these people are in the meantime, thanks to blogs like yours. A lovely album with a great energy, many thanks!

good choice reza. I picked this up a few years back and it got me quite enthused about Mariano. Highly recommended.

Very good post. I know only his contribution when he played with Embryo.
Thanks Reza!

Thanks Reza!
I'm really enjoying this one.
He is a very expressive player.
Does anyone have recommendations for other recordings of his?
I'm not too familiar with him,
but do have "Nassim" (somewhere
on this hard-drive :^)
my best--

swboy-
there's a rip of his 1976 album Helen 12 trees over at MPS-Lov - though it's a little too fusiony for my tastes, I like "Reflections" much better. Also there's another 1974 album "Cascades" over at kinebees. Nice mellow track called "Harriet" on that one that I particularly liked.

Quite liked Helen 12 Trees myself, just had a nice cd re-issue. Another great Mariano was re-released by Wounded Bird a couple of years back. This was Mirror with Tony Levin, David Spinozza etc.

It's always amazing the connection between two musical ears.. Gilles Peterson played a song from this album a week later after yout post!! lol
